Card Battles and Tournaments — Deck Power and Secret Shop
9-card decks, color advantage +2, five tournament wins, crystals, and secret shop booster bundles.
Last updated: September 12, 2026
Quick Answer
9-card deck, two colors for +2 advantage, win 5 tournament matches → secret shop; spend crystals on special booster bundles.
Hi, I'm Vook, a tcg grinder who lost three tournaments in a row because I chased rare card art instead of color advantage.

Arcanis stops being a shelf gimmick here. Deck power resolves combat; +2 power on color advantage beats a pile of mismatched high-rarity cards.
Collection first: opening booster packs. Keep retail alive: pricing. Hub loop: beginners' guide.
Deck power beats raw rarity
I ran nine high-rarity cards with random colors, then nine mid-tier cards in two colors. Mid-tier won more.
Power is the combat number. Color advantage is +2 on attacks where you hold advantage — flat, every exchange.
My rule: pick two colors, fill nine slots with strongest cards in those colors.
| Slot | Priority |
|---|---|
| 1–3 | Highest power in main color |
| 4–6 | Secondary color + abilities |
| 7–9 | Decent power filler |
Tip: Low-power ability cards only earn a slot if they support the two-color plan.
Tournament route
- Build exactly 9 cards from collection.
- Check power on each card (damage and health scale from it).
- Commit to two colors for advantage windows.
- AI matches first — learn your power curve cheaply.
- Win 5 tournament matches → reputation + secret shop.
- Spend crystals on special booster bundles and shop items — don't hoard forever.
Color advantage math
+2 sounds small until it hits every advantaged attack in a match.
- Even power + advantage → you win the exchange.
- Even power, no advantage → tempo loss.
- Slightly behind + advantage → can still break even or win.
I never auto-pick highest power in isolation — highest power in a color I can field.
Rewards loop
| Reward | Source | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Crystals | Battle wins | Special packs, shop items |
| Reputation | Tournament wins | Progression |
| Secret shop | 5 tournament wins | Exclusive stock |
| Booster bundles | Secret shop | Stronger next deck |
Retail pays bills while you grind cards. Don't let pricing slip in the background.
Mistakes
- Rebuilding deck every match — resets your read on the curve.
- Ignoring the 9-card cap.
- Skipping AI warm-up — tournament attempts are too valuable.
- Crystals on cosmetics before booster bundles.
Warning: Cosmetics don't compound. Booster bundles do.
Build nine, lock two colors, five tournament wins, secret shop, reinvest crystals. That's the whole Arcanis combat loop.
