Tidy Up History Guide
Tidy Up History: All 16 Keys Locations
Every museum key location in acquisition order — wing chain, tables, crates, floorboards, and noise cues.
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Quick Answer
16 keys in a chain — each next key often hides in the room before its wing. Red dots track new pickups; full list below for Keymaster.
Hi, I'm Vook, a key hunter who stopped assuming the Egypt key would be in Egypt — this museum hides the next key in whatever room you just unlocked.
Keymaster unlocks when you hold all 16 keys. You start with a few; the rest are scattered across wings. Red dot indicators on the HUD mark keys you picked up recently — use them so nothing sits forgotten in a backpack.
Main route: hub walkthrough. Knowledge books overlap some key spots: knowledge books.

Overview map — pair with the table below; several keys hide in the previous wing, not where the name suggests.
How keys work
- Keys open locked exhibit wings — progress is a chain, not sixteen random pins.
- Check tables, boxes, crates, railings, stairs, and breakable floorboards.
- Listen for key audio cues when you are close.
- Some keys sit on Knowledge Books — grab the book and the key in one trip if you can.
- Knowledge ability entries open side rooms that hide extras.
All 16 key locations
| # | Wing / key | Where the key is |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Theropod Room | On the map / floor right as you walk in |
| 2 | Ancient Egypt | In the Theropod Room |
| 3 | Ancient Greece / Rome | Top of the stairs — on a Knowledge Book |
| 4 | Sub-Saharan Kingdoms | Left side of the stairs — on the railing overlooking the museum center |
| 5 | Andean & Mesoamerican | Floor of the Sub-Saharan Kingdoms room |
| 6 | Ancient China | On a box in the Ancient Egyptian room |
| 7 | Cerapod Clade | In the Ancient Chinese room |
| 8 | Mesopotamia | On a display in the Cerapod Clade room |
| 9 | Ancient Japan / Korea | Floor of the Mesopotamia room |
| 10 | Stone Age | Floor in the Ancient Japan / Korea room |
| 11 | Indigenous North America | In the Stone Age room |
| 12 | Ornithopods (Orthropods wing) | Under broken floorboards in the Andean & Mesoamerican room |
| 13 | Medieval Europe | Floor of the Ornithopod room |
| 14 | Non-Dinosaur Bones | On a crate in the Medieval Europe room |
| 15 | Ancient India | In the Other Fossils / Non-Dinosaur room |
| 16 | Islamic World | Floor in the Ancient India room |
Key #12 — Ornithopods (floorboards)

Repair the floor first, then loot — fix the floor if the prompt will not show.
Key #14 — Non-Dinosaur Bones (Medieval crate)

Medieval Europe crate — easy to walk past if you rush to the fossil wing.
Tip: If a wing name on the door does not match the room you are standing in, trust the physical location column — that is where I found the key, not where the wing label says it should live.

After key 16, Keymaster should pop on pickup or wing unlock. Still missing one? Re-walk the chain — floorboard keys and stair railings are the usual skips.
